Thank You CASE

Hi Everyone:

You can never have enough Thank You cards on hand and I loved this card, originally posted here. My version uses the same layout idea with some different stamps. I love how it turned out!

Using the new 2013-2015 Stampin’ Up In Colors – Crisp Cantalope and Baked Brown Sugar, I added Bermuda Bay to come up with this.

My handy dandy Stamp-a-ma-jig was a needed tool and came in handy when trying to line up the stamps and sentiments across the top.

Check out the video here for a demo on the Stamp-a-ma-jig and how to use it:

Thank You Wildcard Wednesday

Good morning!

In a few short hours, my husband and I are headed to Arizona to enjoy a few days away from the daily grind of work, work, work. Our ‘retirement’ countdown clock (retiring from working full time) turns over to 11 months 29 days tomorrow and we are excited! A year from now our journey to enjoying more time ‘retired’ (whatever that may look like!) begins and you will be hearing more about it here …..

My card today is a fun, bright Thank You card I created using several different stamp sets. I got the layout idea from a card published in a recent cardmaking publication and took stamps I had on hand to create this version.

The Thank You was inked once and then stamped 3 – 4 times to get the varying shades of ink. I repeated this a couple of times and just varied the position of the sentiment on the Whisper White card stock. No positioning tool needed 🙂 The flower was stamped and quickly punched with a coordinating Pansy Punch – I love how Stampin’ Up has stamp sets and coordinating punches or Framelits/Thinlit dies that cut out your stamped image in a flash!

Would love to hear what you think!

Tuesday’s Tips, Tools and Techniques ….. Twine Organization

How do you organize your twine, ribbons, buttons, embellishments??? I have gone through a variety of different setup’s and this tip – organizing and displaying your twine on wooden clothespins is GREAT! I love having it in my view and within my reach. I also love that it is wound around the clothes pin, without any creases in the twine!

Monday Makeover – So Sorry

Hi Everyone;

Today’s post is my ‘Monday Makeover’ card. Where do you find inspiration? I find it everywhere including all of the fabulous card makers in the virtual community. My goal for Monday Makeover is to take a card I love and make a similar card, using the stamps and supplies I have on hand 🙂 Many of the ideas come from Card Magazines and different blogs. Today’s card idea came from Karen Dunbrook. You can see her card here.

Here is my version:

So Sorry Monday Makeover

Although this card is designed to be a Sympathy card, the stamp set (So Sorry) has many options including forgiving me, so sorry you have been ill, so sorry for the loss of your beloved pet etc.. I love that it is a flat, simple yet elegant card that speaks to your feelings. The butterfly was sponged after creating a mask with the Beautiful Butterfly Bigz Die. The field flowers were stamped last, using Stazon Black Ink.

Do you tend to stamp on the inside of your cards? I love to do that adding a special touch when you open the card. I also tend to add a layer, similar to the outside of the card. Here is my inside version and the mask I created:

Always love to hear what you think!

Thinking of You …. this Sunday Evening

Isn’t it a great surprise when you get an unexpected card in the mail, just letting you know someone is thinking of you?

I love to send cards like this to others. Sharing my craft with others and for others’ enjoyment makes this great hobby even more meaningful and fun! I would love to stamp with you ….. either in person or ‘virtually’. Drop me an email!

Thursday’s Challenge …. I Freakin’ Love You!

It’s Thursday and it’s time to ‘challenge’ myself to create something new by using a card making challenge or a stamp set that I have not used yet (I have just a few of these 😉 to create something new! I used a couple cool stamp sets to create this card … Yippee Skippee! (for the great sentiment) and a Photopolymer Stamp Set called Show and Tell 2 (for the arrows).

What do you think? Was hoping for a hip, cool card for a 24 year old guy. (Also nice and flat to send to Chicago! No hassling with the Post Office Staff 🙂

Did I achieve that? Let me know what you think!
