I’ve settled into “retirement” (I put that in quotes because I will still be working as a Nurse Practitioner when I return home to Michigan for visits!) in Tucson, AZ in a fabulous community – Saddlebrooke. They have a very active Papercrafters Group which I have joined and I had the pleasure of attending a Fun shop – a Saturday afternoon spent learning new and fun techniques from one of the group members. Cheri Utsler, a very talented paper crafter, taught us a couple different techniques and ones I had not tried before – embossing photos, tearing and also coloring photos with our Blendabilities (Stampin’ Up’s! Alcohol based markers which are fabulous!). Cheri provided us with the instruction and beautiful photographs – most of which were black and white – matte finish photos to do as we pleased. Here are 3 of the 6 cards I created …. I will post the other three tomorrow!
The first one was a black and white photo of a fall scene with leaves on the ground. I used Daffodil Delight, Old Olive and Calypso Coral Blendabilities to color the leaves and ran it through the Big Shot using the Woodgrain embossing folder.
The next card highlights how you can use a beautiful photo without changing it and add texture by running it through an embossing folder. I used the Big Shot and Honeycomb Embossing Folder on this card.
The last card for today took a beautiful black and white photo of daisies and I chose to color them with the Daffodil Delight Blendabilities, choosing 2 different shades of markers. What do you think?
I am really excited to get into a more regular routine of posting, sharing and inspiring. I hope you join me along the way!
I love to stamp with others. I love to teach those who have never stamped before, stamp with experienced stampers and everyone in-between! My style is relaxed and inclusive 🙂 Join me either in person at my next All-Occasion Card Class scheduled for Tuesday, October 7th in Tucson from 2PM – 4PM (details can be found HERE) or stamp with me anywhere, anytime with my “Classes on Your Time” card making kit option – the next kit is due out October 1st (watch for details soon) but I still have a few kits left from September (read about it here!).
That’s it for today! I always love to hear what you think … let me know!
